Double back roll

Double back roll is an advanced kitesurfing trick (or technique) that should be performed only by an experienced kitesurfer. This trick should not be performed unless you are confident in you abilities to perform all the basic tricks and your abilities to comfortably handle your kite in the air.

Double back roll involves performing two full back roll at once, in one jump. In other words, you will need to perform two 360 degrees rotations in the air and land in a forward position going in the same direction. Double back roll can be performed in two different directions: a right-side double back roll and a left-side double roll.

A right-side double back roll involves two 360 degrees turns in the right direction. The kitesurfer will need to gain enough speed and power to stay in the air enough time to perform the roll. After the appropriate speed is reached, the kitesurfer jumps and turns to the right. The body needs to be positioned at approximately 45 degrees to the perpendicular (to the water) line with the kite and the board turning in a type of a circle fashion.

The kitesurfer can try to perform the both 360 degree turns on the sane height from the water level or in a descending fashion: the first roll a little higher then the second one. You can also try practicing from a single back roll and then proceeding to the double back roll.

A left-side double roll is performed in the same way as the right-side double back roll, with the only difference. The kitesurfer will need to perform two 360 degrees rotations in the left direction instead of the right direction. However, the right-side double back roll in considered a little easier and should be tried and practiced first, before the left-side double roll is tried.
