Flat spin one hand back roll
Flat spin one hand back roll is an sophisticated and complex kitesurfing trick. You will need to have enough experience and practice with basic techniques before performing the flat spin one hand back roll. You will also need to be able to handle you kiteboard very stably as stability is of utmost importance.
Flat spin one hand back roll involves performing one full back roll in the left direction at once. To perform this trick, the kitesurfer will need, after reaching the appropriate speed, to execute one 360 degrees rotation in the air and land in a forward position going in the same direction. That sounds very similar to the single back roll, however, there are some differences in the flat spin one hand back roll.
First of all, the kitesurfer performs the 360 degrees rotation almost parallel to the water level line (the body is positioned at approximately 90 degrees to the perpendicular (to the water) line with the kite and the board turning in a type of a circle fashion). Second, when performing the flat spin one hand back roll, the kitesurfer is in the air only a little above the water, low enough to be able to touch the water with his or her hand. Third, the kitesurfer will need to keep his or her left hand in the water during the spin.
The flat spin one hand back roll trick is far more complicated then a single back roll and is probably at the same level of complexity as the double back roll. It will take you a lot of practice before you will be able to successfully perform the flat spin one hand back roll technique. Practice and stability are the keys to success.
