Asymmetrical boards

Whether you are choosing a bi-directional or asymmetrical kitesurfing board, there are a few options you can choose from. Although many people chose the bi-directional board as a beginner more are starting to prefer the asymmetrical boards as it give them the proper alignment for their feet as well as making it easier to jump, jibe and lift. These boards are considered light wind boards.

Kitesurfing has become one of the newest extreme sports around. You can check out kite surfers around world as they perform tricks and jumps across the ocean floor. Beginners will love the action and ride that only an asymmetrical board can give them. There is very little footwork necessary and with the board being lightweight it is easy to get air quicker.

The term asymmetrical means that the footpads that are attached in pairs are evenly distributed on the board itself. Once the feet are inserted into the footpad and attached to the board it is easy to get up and going with an asymmetrical board than the bi-directional. You literally can be air bound the second you take over the kite.

Two female riders who wanted to create a simpler smoother riding board designed the North Cindy Pro. The North Jaime and Dragon are also some other excellent examples of asymmetrical PVC composite boards. North’s Sumo and Defender models are also comprised of various elements that keep the board light and buoyant. These two models also have rudder like fins attached to the bottom for skimming and navigating turns. Thus keeping the surfer zipping through swells and breaks easily

Depending on which type of action you prefer there are many models too chose from. You have the option to check all of them out on the manufacturers website. If you get the opportunity to test drive one at the beach, do it!

Asymmetrical boards continue to grow in popularity and with their ability to navigate and jump with more efficiency. More surfers are taking a second look at these models as a possibility to ride the waves faster and lighter thus enhancing the overall ride.
