Kitesurfing history
Kitesurfing is a relatively new sport. As a result, even though there is some history associated with it, it is not a very long history. Also, even though this is an extreme sport, it's also so new that there are a lot of techniques and events being created every day for people who enjoy kitesurfing.
As a result, if you're looking to start a sport that's relatively new, and you enjoy the water, then this is the one for you.
Kitesurfing as it exists now was said to have been created in the late 1990's by a few windsurfers. However, even though it did not become a popularized sport until recently, other people have tried to do things similar to kitesurfing in the past. For example, there have even been reports of people kitesurfing with paraglider wings and surfboards in the 1970's.
This was not enough to create an actual sport, however. While a few people would be interested and attempt to kitesurf in this way, the sport needed safer gear in order to get other people interested. This started to happen soon after the turn of the century. There has been a lot of work in the past few years in order to make sure that kitesurfing equipment is as safe as possible.
Therefore, kitesurfing probably would not have started up at all if it hadn't been for an invention back in 1987. This invention basically consisted of an inflatable, floating kite which could take off even if it had crashed into the water. As you can imagine, it was using these kites in the 1990's that caused kitesurfing to be a reasonable sport.
At first, wakeboards were used for kitesurfing, and while these can still be used, you're better off getting a kitesurfing board. Soon after the sport began to become popular, these kitesurfing boards were designed. Another thing that has helped the sport to become more popular is that the price of kitesurfing equipment has been steadily falling. Now it is reasonable for an average person to purchase the equipment that he or she needs to start kitesurfing.
Today, kitesurfing is a sport that is starting to really grow in popularity. For instance, there are now kitesurfing schools and competitions for people who are interested in the activity.
Since this is a new sport, however, you can expect that there will be many more changes in the near future.
